My current role at HVP is that of the Director of Business Development. This position allows me to leverage my extensive experience in the animal health industry to foster growth and innovation within the organization. My journey to this role has been deeply influenced by my upbringing on a small farm in southwestern Minnesota, near Rushmore. Growing up in an environment where we engaged in crop farming, hog raising, and dairy operations instilled in me a profound appreciation for agriculture and rural communities. After completing my education at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, where I met my wife Amy, we chose to settle in this area to raise our three sons. The strong agricultural presence and the sense of community in this region have always resonated with me, making it an ideal place for our family.
My decision to pursue a career in sales, particularly as a Vice President, was driven by my passion for collaboration and problem-solving. I find great fulfillment in working closely with individuals to develop tailored solutions that address their unique business challenges. This motivation led me to join Heritage, where I recognized a significant opportunity to contribute to the health and sustainability of rural mixed animal clinics. The landscape of livestock production has undergone substantial changes, and I am committed to ensuring that these practices not only survive but thrive amidst these transformations. My educational background, which includes a Business Administration degree from Dordt College, laid the foundation for my career in the animal health sector. Over the past 25 years, I have accumulated valuable experience in sales, beginning with my role at Vet Pharm and continuing through my tenure at MWI, before ultimately joining Heritage Vet Partners in 2022.
